Jobseekers - Registration Tips

APPLICATION HELPFUL HINTS FROM PARKWOOD HEALTHCARE

Upon registration with our agency you will join an organisation, which takes a keen interest in the well being of its staff. We believe this is the key to our success and the reason we receive excellent feedback not only from clients, but also from staff who value our unique one-to-one service.

On the day of your interview you will be assigned a personal recruitment coordinator for the duration of your employment with Parkwood Healthcare. This highly experienced member of staff will be available to discuss your requirements and offer suitable solutions to any queries you might have.

As well as our team of recruitment coordinators we also offer a 24hr on-call facility so that the Parkwood Healthcare service never sleeps!

We have lots of work available at excellent pay rates and are confident that we can find you the placements of your choice.

The following documents are required by Parkwood in order for you to register – here are some hints and tips about how to get them all:

1) 2 Managerial References 1 from current manager, 1 from previous manager. The references must cover a three year period and we must be able to contact them at a workplace address. If you are currently working for an agency, we must take one from the agency manager and one from the manager of a service where you have worked for a minimum of 3 months. Please note: references from work colleagues or training providers will not be accepted.

2) 2 passport-sized Photos

3) Passport (If you have a student visa we also require a letter from your college to confirm you are a student).  Other acceptable proofs of ID include the European ID Card. If you are unsure of your eligibility to work in the UK, please visit the following website for further information: http://www.workpermit.com/uk/uk.htm(Please note: Parkwood cannot register those of you who require a work permit to work in the UK).

4) Proof of National Insurance Number – NI card, Payslip, P60, P45.

If you currently do not have a national insurance number, please visit http://www.dwp.gov.uk/lifeevent/benefits/ni_number.asp. We can provide proof of your registration in a letter in order to apply.

5) 2 x Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement) dated within the last 3 months.

6) Immunisation details Depending on the area in which you wish to work, you may require the following immunisations:

  • Hepatitis B titre levels (Blood Test) Serology must be provided: evidence of vaccine administration is not sufficient. Where surface antibody levels are above 100miu and within 5 years, no further evidence is required. Where the level is below 100miu, evidence of further testing to exclude Hepatitis B infection may be required. If you have not got a Hepatitis B antibody result, you must either attend a NHS Occupational Health Department or your GP for a blood test.
  •  Evidence of immunity against Rubella (Blood Test)
  • Evidence of immunity against Varicella-Zoster if you have not had Chicken Pox (Blood Test)
  • Evidence of immunity against TB (BCG scar sited by GP or Occupational Health Nurse) or Heaf Test Results

For these immunisations please make an appointment to see your GP (Or if you are a Student Nurse, please see your Occupational Health Department) who should be able to help you. If you have had the immunisations, your GP should have records, if not, you may need a blood test to check your immunity. If you have had the TB immunisation, you will have a scar on your upper arm. The GP should site this scar for you giving written proof. Parkwood can provide you with letters to take to ask for all this information.

7) £36 (cash or cheque) to enable us to apply for an enhanced CRB check. Please also note that if you do not bring payment at the interview, we will be unable to process your application. (You may also be able to get a voucher from your local job centre to help pay for the CRB).

8) Current Manual Handling & Basic Life Support certificates (within last 12 months) If you do not have this training, it can be provided by Parkwood at a cost of between £35 – £40. Please ensure if you do need the training that you bring cheque (and guarantee card) or cash to the interview. This training is essential and we will not be able to place you without it.

9) (Qualified Staff) NMC Pin Card and Statement of Entry to the Register. Please contact the NMC by visiting their website:

10) CV of full work history (for those interested in a line of work)

11) Any relevant professional development certificates
