| Parkwood Healthcare Ltd wins contract to help improve the health and wellbeing of residents in West Berkshire
Parkwood Healthcare Ltd has won a contract to help tackle health inequalities across Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire by supplying a team of Health Trainers. Working in partnership with NHS Berkshire West, local leader of the NHS, the Health Trainers will reach out to local communities and help people in deprived areas to improve their health and wellbeing. The team of Health Trainers will be recruited from the local communities and undergo a course of academic training, after which they will gain fully qualified Health Trainer status which is nationally accredited by City & Guilds. The new team will then start work from health and community venues in and around Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire putting their new training into practice with the help of NHS Berkshire West. They will offer information, motivation and provide practical support to people who want help improving their health. Examples of such services include:
